When the school children living in the Oroko villages and attending either primary or secondary schools register, their names are added to a Selection Pool published on our website, where potential sponsors can select children to sponsor. Sponsors then contribute $12 monthly to their sponsored children. 100% of the money contributed is used for the children's tuition and uniforms. When a child is selected, the sponsored child is notified in writing of the sponsorship.

Children must be either in Primary or Secondary school in any of the Oroko villages and regularly attending school. Children must fill the application forms and submit them to be considered for sponsorship. Children provide their birth certificates, one passport-sized photograph, and current term report card.

Registration forms must be signed and stamped by the headmasters or principals. Children are encouraged to maintain an average score of C or better.

Our staff goes to the villages to compile the Children's Registration packets. Application Packets not completed are rejected, and letters are sent to notify the children.

Sponsored children are dropped from the program when they drop out of schools or when they fail all three semeters of an academic year. Thirdly, when they turn 17 years old and when the children move away from the sponsored areas.

However, when disabled children move away from the sponsored areas, they cannot be terminated from the program if they can prove that the reason for the transfer was to attend a special school.

Sponsors are not required to write but we encourage that they write because hearing from sponsors is a wonderful and rewarding experience to your sponsored children and can improve their self-esteem.

Anyone can be a sponsor and sponsor as many children as he/she can afford. Sponsors choose the children they want to sponsor from the website.

Sponsors receive Welcome Packets that include the children's photos, the children's profile and family history and a welcome letter from Angels for Oroko Children, Inc.

About several months, sponsors will receive a letter from the sponsored children introducing themselves and their families. Later, they will receive two letters per year from their sponsored children, yearly financial statement, newsletter about the children and their communities, and Christmas cards.

In addition, sponsors receive quarterly financial statements of their contributions, annual financial statement about the organization, annual report cards about the sponsored children's progress and education and Christmas cards. Not forgetting that sponsors have children who now know them, love them and are committed in praying for them.

Visiting the children is encouraged. If sponsors make the trip, Afoc will arrange for them to see their children.

Sponsors decide how long to sponsor the children and notify the US Headquarter of their reasons to terminate sponsorship. The terminated children are returned to the pool for sponsorship selection.
